How Big?
The size of your venue and number of guests will determine what size of dance floor you’ll need. The industry standard is about 3-4 square feet per person. Make sure you consider the age of your guests and how many of them will be actually expected to dance. In general, weddings need the largest amount of dance floor space.
Outside or Not?
Can a dance floor be used outside? Absolutely! Although it’s usually best to have a tent set up, a dance floor can be used outside no matter what. Just make sure you seriously consider the weather. If you don’t provide some shelter from a rainstorm, it’s likely your dance floor won’t get much use.
What About a Subfloor?
Many customers are interested in knowing whether or not they’ll need a subfloor. A subfloor is a structure that is situated below the dance floor in order to provide a high degree of stability. Although it’s up to you, building a subfloor can dramatically increase your rental price.
