How to Use a Sno-Kone Machine!
LI Party Supply | Long Island Concession Machine Rental
With summer quickly approaching we can help keep your party COOL with our Sno-Kone Machine.
With everything you can do outdoors: picnic, park, playground, beach, pool, waterpark etc. The possibilities for a party in the summertime seem endless. We can help add that extra coolness factor with our Suffolk County Party Rentals or even our Sno-Kone machine.
The Sno-Kone machine comes with a motor, shaving unit and dispensing case. You have two switches: one for the motor (a toggle switch) and a separate switch inside the case on the light. At the end of the motor shaft you will find the mounted cutter-head which is inside the body of the shaver (also referred to as the gooseneck). Within the shaver body you will find the pusher handle that presses the ice against the revolving cutter-head. The result is your shaved ice!
Safety is our concern when you rent one of our machines. Below is some important information to help you have a fun and safe party while using our machine.
The machine must be grounded properly to prevent shock in case electrical issues arise. The motor is a 110-volt single phase 60 cycle AC current. Don’t let metal get inside the gooseneck, or it will ruin the blades. Don’t stick your fingers or any objects into the shaver body while the motor is running. You could be seriously injured if you improperly use the machine or disregard the safety information. We want you to have fun and enjoy your party not end up unable to make Sno-Kones or worse, hurt!
Note: It is normal for the motor to get warm (a surface temp of 150-degrees is normal) during normal operation.
Make Sno-Kones in 4 Simple Steps:
1. Start motor and fill gooseneck with ice cubes or block ice broken into 3″ or 4″ in size. Fill about an inch from top, the larger the piece of ice the better the snow.
2. Push the pusher handle down to press the ice against the cutter-head with a firm even pressure. Sometimes you may find it better to relieve the pressure two or three times on the way down. This helps the ice rearrange itself and you get a better bite.
3. Never force the handle as this could cause the motor to stall.
4. If too much pressure is required, relieve the handle, and then come down again. Too much pressure on the pusher handle will make the ice come out coarse; too little pressure creates mush.
Cleaning:
Be sure to unplug the machine before cleaning and wipe all surfaces clean before returning.
